Kick off meeting NMEMOSYNE - 31st May - 1st June 2010
During a two-day meeting, the Fundació Sociosanitaria de Manresa, the Wever Foundation, Promente, FH OÖ Forschungs- Entwicklungs GMBH, the Centro Metid- Politecnico De Milano and Tartu LV Sotsiaalabi Osakond gathered ideas and agreed on the methodology and time tables to be set for each subproject work package.
After getting to know each other, and presenting each partners’ competences in their respective areas of expertise, the attendees were engaged in a lively discussion on how to ensure the efficient development of the tasks. They also addressed the most relevant issues before starting the project implementation. These issues included the project planning and time frames, the financial and budgetary provisions and the legal and monitoring requirements.
The partners did also agreed on the most suitable way to integrate the more theoretical and analytical phases of the project, with its practical implementation in the development of the pilot tests. Dissemination and communication actions were also thoroughly discussed by the meeting attendees.
All these efforts aimed at ensuring the best way to reach the projects' main objectives, namely to raise awareness on the use of teleassistance services (both for Alzheimer and dementia patients and their families) and to develop a platform (validated through a pilot test) providing an answer to the identified needs of the patients and their families.
In the following weeks the consortium will develop a state-of-the-art analysis on the implementation of Teleassistance applications for the monitoring of Alzheimer and Dementia syndrome patients and the support for their relatives. This first task will be coordinated by the Fundació Sociosanitaria de Manresa and its results will be presented during the next meeting (to be held during the month of October in the Netherlands and be hosted by Foundation De Wever).
